Last Breaking Free small group!

We had  a potluck today! I brought cupcakes! With the help of my sister and Iris, I got lots of compliments on them.

It's sad to part from the women in Newsong's small group. 10 weeks I've heard bits and pieces of their stories and I've walked with them through strongholds that we are not free from. I'm so glad and blessed to meet each person. I have a renewed hope and passion to search for God more and even more now because of the women in my small group. (:

Retreat Updates

A week passed and I now finally get to update about the Edge Retreat.

WHAT I came into Retreat with...
I came not really excited for retreat because it would be my 3rd time. I came with the heaviness of my dad still in my heart and with  relationship struggles every couple goes through. Most of all, I came with the notion that I want to Find God's LOVE so that I may be able to learn how to love like Him.

WHAT I got out of Retreat...
I'm not alone. Where I'm at presently, a few more girls may be there too. Beauty in the brokenness brings so many girls together. That's true community.

Parents are humans too. If we see our parents as parents, we tend to put them on a pedestal because they're older and because they know better. Every little mistake they do, we easily criticize, not thinking that we do the same mistakes too. If we see them as humans, we are more likely to sympathize and empathize for them. Parents aren't super heroes like we want them to be, but they aren't aliens either. They're like us, kids, just trapped in older bodies.

Something that Nancy said, struck a chord in me. I realized that I don't have to try hard to love God. I don't have to try hard to win His love because He has always been here for me. He has never stopped loving me. I need to stop searching for His love and learn to be still.

Put to the test..

Came back from Edge winter retreat to find that my 'lil' is already having problems. And on top of that, I got a fever when my midterm is in 2 days!

So like Dave Brubaker talked about dancing to the music, but he also warned about being put to the test. This is my test, I guessing. BUT! God is my strength and with Him I can do all things.

Pray for me! thanks!
I'll update about retreat after my midterm.

too.

From my Breaking Free Bible study, I just heard the most profound epiphany from Beth Moore. It goes something like this..

We have no right to say, "I love you, God"  because He is the initiator, He is love. In order for us to love Him truly and genuinely and for us to love others, His love has to overflow in us. All we can say is, "I love you too!"

MUSIC PAINTING - Glocal Sound - Matteo Negrin

Great weekend!

This weekend was spent a lot with Kevin, my sister, and Thomas. We ate at Taiko, we went to watch Tangled! which is the best animation movie ever! We went to the Great Park and we also played taboo! Note to self and Kevin: Let's get better at Taboo and beat Thomas and My sister!

Kevin and I made a friend. At Michael's, they have these slabs of wood that has cut outs in them. We popped the cut outs and assembled an owl! cool, huh?! I love it!

New year updates!

Oh man! It's been a while since I wrote. The Holidays keeps me  busy because of family stuff, but also keeps me lazy. All I've done during the break was cook, eat, sleep... a bit of studying for pharm stuff.. but mostly eat and sleep.

A week of school has passed. So quick! 9 more weeks to go. Classes are ok so far. The most interesting class I'm taking right now is Integrative Medicine. An Asian grandpa professor is going to teach us tai chi, meditation, and acupuncture. Very excited about that. For research, I'm on the ovo team now, which means more hands on projects and more random hours. I like it.

Other than that, leading is still a challenge for me. I don't know how i'm going to tackle it this quarter. All I know is that I want to take away the teacher/student vibe and make it more like a girl to girl talk. How do I do that though? Not sure yet..
